Keeping it short and wide, allows a lot of area into a short space allowing it to paddle like a longboard but keep the speed and manoeuvrability of a shortboard. The double concave hull shaped into the back two-thirds of the bottom deck give the board lift and channels the water through the fin area. The increased area with a flatter, straighter bottom curve and a more parallel outline, creates a clean wake with virtually no drag. The wide-based keel fins are set right back and as close to the rail as possible and have little toe-in or splay. Planing speed and trim are instant, so making sections on these boards is a piece of cake.
