Last week, the 28th September, an epic swell pulled into JBay and churned out cranking surf for three days straight. A collection of South Africa’s best juniors were already in town for Billabong’s consecutive junior events. The likes of Jordy Smith and Brendan Gibbens also pulled in to join the frothing groms, locals and out of towners for an amazing few days of surf.

Cape Town based photographer was sure to snap up the action. “I was meant to be heading up the coast for the Billabong Junior Series the day after this swell was predicted,” Ian said. “Seeing as there was such a great mix of riders in the area for the contest, I knew it would be great to get there in time for the swell. So I made certain to travel up earlier to capture the action. It was an amazing day with good vibes in the water!”
