Unconfirmed reports of a shark encounter with a surfer at Queensberry Bay came in earlier today from sources in East London. According to the source the surfer’s board came off second best, with a big chunk taken from its tail, but thankfully, apart from a grazed thigh the surfer was mostly unharmed.
Queensberry Bay was the scene of another close encounter three years ago, when former World Tour surfers Rosy Hodge and Greg Emslie were circled by a large great white while out surfing at the point.

Does anybody know what type of shark it was?
I’m from EL and no-one in the surfing circles seems to know. Seems like the shark disappeared before anyone actually saw it.
