Renowned big wave surfer Mike Parsons suffered a broken neck while surfing Ocean Beach on the day of the Mavericks Invitational. A nasty wipeout saw Parsons get pile-driven by the lip, dislocating his shoulder and crushing his C7 vertebrae in the process.
