Weskus local, Jaco Steyn has thrown two epic contenders into the ring for Leg 3 of the Monster Pitstop in association with O’Neill, Vestal, Skullcandy and Neff, in the hopes of taking out this month’s prize* and securing a spot in the Pit of the Year grand final – which has over R30 000** in cash and prizes up for grabs.

First we received this mental clip filmed by Pete Frieden, which shows Jaco pig-dogging a ridiculous left in Lombok:

Then Jaco, who has been spending the whole season charging in Indo, dropped our jaws with this mind-blowing right ridden in the Mentawais:

And if you think it’s going to be hard enough for our judges to pick a winner between those two, Jaco still has to get the better of the other contenders that have been entered this month; like another crazy Indo barrel ridden by Lance Morris, two heavy Bluff barrels negotiated by Ricky Basnett and Scott Venter, as well as a ride by Twiggy that’ll frighten the daylights out of most mortal men. Entries for the August leg of the Monster Pitstop close at the end of the month, after which the winner will be chosen in a split decision between the judging panel and the public, who are encouraged to vote for their favourite.
