In the early hours of Friday morning a fire broke out at the Dutchie Surfboard factory in Paarden Eiland. Dutchie shares the building with Robby McDonald of Vudu Surfboards and Herbie Schnieder from Innerlight Glassing, both of whom also lost their businesses in the inferno.
The blaze was doused by the fire department, after which Dutchie snapped these photos of what’s left of his shaping bay and spraying booth. The rest he claims is in ashes.
Sorry to hear, Dutchie. Comes at a really shitty time, but I hope it’s just a speedbump along the way and you’re back in no time and making us some sick sleds.
