Ending her maiden season on the ASP Womens World Championship Tour with an equal 5th place at the EDP Cascais Girls Pro in Portugal, the Southern Cape’s Bianca Buitendag has finished eighth overall in the 2013 World Title race.
Her run ended in the quarter finals, but Bianca was shredding at the EDP Cascais Girls Pro.
The Vic Bay local started off her rookie campaign with a solid quarter final finish on the Gold Coast at the Roxy Pro, before a consistent run of results saw her peak in the fifth event of the season – where she finished third overall by making the semi-finals at the Colgate Plax Girls Rio Pro in Brazil.
Bianca finished a career-high third at the Colgate Plax Girls Rio Pro in May.
Although it hasn’t officially been announced, Bianca is also just about guaranteed the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award for being the highest-placed rookie at the end of the 2013 season.
Hawaii’s Carissa Moore claimed the 2013 ASP WCT title by advancing to the semi-finals at the EDP Cascais Girls Pro, before continuing with a memorable day by clinching the final event of the season and her second world title.
Hawaiian Carissa Moore was pure class in 2013, and claimed her 2nd world title.
It wasn’t easy going for the 21 year-old Hawaiian, as Australia’s Tyler Wright gave her a titanic struggle right to the end – eventually falling out the race with just three more heats left in the season.
It brings to an end what many are considering one of the most exciting years on the ASP Womens WCT in recent memory.

Well done Bianca.
The girls are absolutely ripping and great to watch on the bottom turns.
It is pretty much like women’s tennis there is plainly more to see in the compo’s.
But they will loose some respect if they don’t have compo’s at some of the bigger perfect exotic locations like cloud break or Bali where there is a definite lack of big shopping malls and beauty bars. I doubt that Tyler Wright will bothered with that though.Rambo chick of note.
